Southern Downs Youth Centre is an organisation dedicated to supporting and engaging the younger generation within the community. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, the Centre focuses on empowering young individuals with opportunities to develop their skills, talents, and relationships. Through various educational and recreational programs, Southern Downs Youth Centre seeks to foster the growth of a strong, healthy, and culturally rich community.

With an emphasis on teamwork and unity, Southern Downs Youth Centre encourages participants to be proactive in contributing to their community. What We Do

Southern Downs Youth Centre seeks to engage and encourage young people in our community through tailored activities and programs, ultimately empowering our youth by creating a positive and supportive environment that allows them the space to become the best versions of themselves.

By helping them discover passions and develop life skills, we foster a vibrant and resilient community of young leaders for future generations.

At Southern Downs Youth Centre, we offer a variety of engaging programs designed to cater to the diverse interests and needs of our young members:

1. Career Training: To prepare youth for future employment, we provide career training workshops, including resume building, interview skills, and job search strategies. We also offer networking events and connect participants with local businesses for internships and job opportunities.
   
2. Mental Health: Recognising the importance of mental well-being, our mental health program provides support through group sessions, one-on-one counselling, and workshops on stress management, mindfulness, and self-care.
   
3. Music: Our music program encourages self-expression and creativity by offering workshops and lessons in various instruments, songwriting, and production. Participants also have the opportunity to perform in concerts and showcases.
4. Arts: In addition to music, we offer various arts programs, such as painting, photography, and dance, allowing participants to explore their creativity and express themselves through different mediums.
